weight loss wednesday!

Make Healthy Food Choices

Making healthy food choices in moderation can help almost anyone to lose weight.

When you have food cravings, you are most likely thirsty as well as hungry, so have a glass of

water then ask yourself if you are still hungry. If you are, try some raw vegetables with a low-fat dip or a slice of low-fat cheese

If you make healthy choices in moderation all your life you are much less likely to suffer other health issues or be overweight.

Hope that helped

weight loss wednesday!

Hi guy today's tip is about Using a Smaller Plate – Portion Control is Key

  • It's human nature to fill up our plate, so to avoid over-eating use a plate that's about 2/3 the size of a normal dinner plate. Many people fear they will feel hungry if they reduce their portion size. Eating a little less at each meal can make big differences over time.
  • There is a time delay of about 15 minutes from when you eat to when your brain registers you have eaten sufficiently. So after eating wait 15 minutes to see how you feel.
  • If you're still hungry, increase the amount of vegetables you are eating at each meal, keeping the protein portion the same.

  • Hope that helped

The family-owned dairy is now Ireland’s largest yogurt maker and has experienced very strong growth in recent years, despite the recession, with a doubling of market share and an increase in unit sales of more than 40% year on year. From a small business with just one paid employee in 1987, the company now employs more than 50 people at its base in Killeigh, Co Offaly. Glenisk works with 50 small family farms around the country, sourcing most of the organic milk produced on the island, and paying farmers the highest milk premium in Ireland.
Glenisk partners with the Marie Keating Foundation and supports local communities
As part of the 25thanniversary celebrations, Glenisk has partnered with the Marie Keating Foundation, donating €25,000 to help the charity raise awareness of breast cancer, promote screening and prevention measures, and help those families who have been adversely affected by the illness. Funds raised from Glenisk’s partnership are used to support the Foundation’s Mobile Information Units which visit hundreds of communities around Ireland each year to give free advice and information. Glenisk has created a series of Limited Edition Pink Yogurt packs to highlight the partnership across the company’s Fat Free Organic yogurts, which are available in Natural (500g), Strawberry (4x125g) and Tropical Fruits (4x125g).

    Bia Beauty Review

Hi guys I just wanted to share with you this really great Irish owned product range. Its called Bia Beauty ( Bia is the Irish word for food ) The reason It is called Bia beauty is because they use all natural food ingredients. It has been created by a Lady called Tracey Ryan from Cork , Ireland who has a first class honours degree in Herbal Science and a love of plants. So she knows her stuff!

Apple Blossom body butter I have to say this wasn't my favourite not a fan of apple scented things and have to say my body butters was a bit strange not the texture of a normal butter it was almost like an oil which I don't like the feel of however my skin does feel soft after using it
The full size of this product is 200ml for €19.95

Lemon Myrtle hand cream This is a really great hand cream it leaves your hands extremely moisturise with lovely lemon scent I really cant find and fault with this product in fact this is my go to hand cream now .  The full size of this jar is 60mls for €14.95

Mellow Mandarin  moisturiser for all skin types a really great moisturiser but again the scent isn't to my liking love orange scent but this didn't have that hard to explain the scent not a bad scent just not what I would expect but the moisturiser is very good it sinks into the skin and your skin feels soft and moisturised for ages. This multi-tasking moisturiser can be used as both a day cream and a night cream, it’s natural oils sink deep into the skin locking in moisture. The full size jar is 60ml for €16.95

Detox body scrub This stuff is amazing its one of the best scrubs I have ever used not only does it exfoliate your skin but its almost leaves your skin moisturised the product is a deeply detoxifying scrub combines ultra cleansing Castor oil with sweet almond oil and apricot kernel grains for a really satisfying scrub. The blend of lemon, grapefruit, juniper, rosemary, fennel, ginger and black pepper essential oils make this scrub uplifting, detoxifying and stimulating and great for treating cellulite.
love the idea that it detox the skin and helps with treating cellulite I will definitely be re-purchasing  this!
This comes in a 250ml bottle for €19.95

Lime pie lip balm  This is a great little lip balm it seems to melt onto the lips and moisturises straight away. I love the design of the tin its in so unique  love it, it comes in four different flavours
Chai- latte, coconut kisses, peppermint chocolate and finally Lime pie  they are all 7ml in size and cost €4.95

Orange and Grapefruit fasical exfoliator and cleanser This really is a good exfoliator  and a pretty decent cleanser however it wont replace my Liz Earl cleanse and polish  hot cloth cleanser however it is going to replace my current facial exfoliator
This product is powerful yet gentle and it needs to cleanse and nourish the skin rather than dry it out. It has Castor and thistle oil which are excellent at cleansing and extracting impurities with natural jojoba grains. These grains are really effective at removing dead skin cells and brightening the complexion without being too abrasive. The full size jar is 60ml for €16.95

    weight loss wednesday!

Hi guys well its Wednesday again so time for my weight loss Wednesday tip and today's tip is

    Avoid Eating Before Bedtime

    • Your last meal of the day should be about 2 hours before you retire to bed.
    • If you go to bed with undigested food in your system, your body will process it while you sleep. Because you don't need much energy while you sleep, you will tend to store the digested and absorbed food as fat.
    • Having your last meal a few hours before bed gives your body a chance to burn some of the energy in your meal. Better still, a bit of activity after dinner such as a walk will help burn more calories and speed up weight loss.

    Avene Eau Thermale TriAcneal

    Hi guys
Today I wanted to review a product that I was luckily given from an amazing event from the people of Avene Eau Thermale range I got to see there amazing new product range that are up coming in Ireland and I will be sure to talk about them in upcoming post however today I want to share with you this really great product  TriAcneal it is for oily blemish prone skin.
    It has three active ingredients:

Efectiose which is an anti-inflammatory which will help reduce redness, swelling and soreness often linked to pimples.

Retinaldehyde which preventing thickening of the skin and the formation of black heads and unblocks the pores it also reduces the risk of post- Inflammatory  scarring.

Glycolic Acid which has a surface peeling effect to smooth the skin.

Personally I have more normal slightly dry skin and I am very luck not to have spots In fact I really cant remember the last time Ive had a spot well that was until I woke up yesterday and had two pretty big ones on my face.

So I thought no better time than now to test it out I would have put it on that morning however it states in the instructions it is to be used in the evening so I waited and that evening put it on I kind of tingled on the skin but I figured it was ok as in the instruction it said this might happen plus it felt like it was doing something

    The results

I don't suffer from extreme  breakout to be honest I rarely get them at all
and this result was after a day

This amazing product retails for €27 and is available from most Boots pharmacy's and I believe Boots have a great 3 for 2 offer on so my advice go out and stock up its a must have for beautiful clear clean skin

    What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is one of those skin  concerns that is a widespread yet poorly understood, chronic sensitive skin condition that mainly affects the face. It is a condition that most commonly affects fair skinned people
Between 2 to 5% of the population is affected by the condition. There is no cure for rosacea but a range of sensitive skin treatments are available that can help to control the symptoms of the condition. Rosacea affects twice as many women than men (although it tends to be more serious in men).

    What are the symptoms?
Usually the first sign of rosacea is Flushing which Can last up to five minutes
It can spread to the neck and chest and may be linked with an unpleasant feeling of heat.
Flushing is sometimes followed by episodes of persistent facial redness, accompanied by broken veins (telangiectasias) that can become inflamed
In the most serious and developed cases of rosacea, the sensitive skin can thicken and form excess tissue, usually around the nose, due to enlargement of sebaceous glands.

    • Exposure to sunlight
    • Stress
    • Strenuous exercise
    • Hot or cold or windy weather
    • Hot drinks
    • Alcohol
    • Humidity
    • Hot bath
    • Caffeine
    • Certain food: vinegar, tomatoes, citrus, grapes, dairy products, aubergines, avocados, spinach, bananas…and chocolate!!
    • Acute medical conditions such as a cold, cough or fever
    • High blood pressure
    • Vasodilatory medicines etc…
Triggers that cause episodes of flushing and blushing play a part in the development of rosacea. Exposure to temperature extremes can cause the face to become flushed as well as strenuous exercise, heat from sunlight, severe sunburn, stress, anxiety, cold wind, and moving to a warm or hot environment from a cold one such as heated shops and offices during the winter. There are also some food and drinks that can trigger flushing, including alcohol,, food and beverages containing caffeine(especially, hot tea and coffee). Foods high in histamine (red wine, aged cheeses, yogurt, beer, cured pork products such as bacon, etc.) can even cause persistent facial flushing in those individuals without rosacea due to a separate condition, histamine intolerance.

Treating rosacea varies depending on severity and subtypes. A subtype-directed approach to treating rosacea patients is recommended to dermatologists.

Hope that is helpful  I have some posts coming up about amazing aid to help calm down rosacea so stay tuned!!

    Weight loss wednesday!! Slip ups!

Hi Guys firstly I want to thank you for your support for that last few days with my friend passing its a very hard time but I have found my self reading more blogs and its helping me and I am always getting comments on how my weight loss tips always help so I decided to keep going
today's tips  about slipping up on a diet

If you slip up, don't beat yourself up about it. It's what you do after you've slipped up that makes all the difference. The sooner you get back onto the diet the sooner you will go back to controlling your weight.

If you overindulge, recognise you have, and then get back on track as quickly as you can. Statistics show that if you delay going back on your diet for longer than 3 or 4 days, you are more likely to abandon your diet altogether, and gain back all of the weight you have lost.

Some people feel overly guilty if they slip up and resort to extremes like fasting or severe exercise regimes to make up for their indiscretions. You definitely don't need to do this, but a little more exercise and making sure your diet is "spot on" for a few days will certainly help.

The golden rule is to try not to let it happen too often. If you can stay on track 95% of the time, you will achieve great results.

    Hope this helps

    Weight loss wednesday

    Keeping a food Diary

Keeping a diary and writing down everything you eat and drink can be a very powerful and motivating tool to help you stay focused.

Keep your diary with you so you can record your food/drink intake as you go. Each day record your  daily meals, how much water you drink and how you are feeling. Also record any significant exercise or activity you have done each day.

Most people feel more accountable when they keep a food diary and tend to cut down on sneaky snacking. It's also much easier to diagnose any problems you may encounter if you have an accurate record of your food intake.

Be specific: Make sure you include 'extras', such as gravy on your meat or cheese on your vegetables. Try not to generalise, for example, record an apple as apple, not as fruit.

    Hope that was helpful

    No7 Melting Gel Cleanser

Hi guys today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on a new product I have recently purchased  its the No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser.
    Its description
A refreshing gel that transforms into an oil as you massage into your skin, cleverly dissolving make up and impurities to help keep skin looking clear and healthy. It then transforms into a milk as you rinse clean leaving no residue just perfectly clean, supple skin. Sweet almond oil and glycerin are included in the formula to add moisture and ensure that the skin feels not only clean but incredibly soft. Hypo-allergenic.

    How to Use
For Best Results: Gently massage the gel into your skin, avoiding the eye area, until it turns to oil. Adding warm water turns it into milk, which then means it's ready to be washed away.

    My thoughts
I am very happy with this so far you can see the make up separating (melting ) off your face it does not dry out your skin and it feels very clean and fresh afterwards
It wont replace my Liz Earl cleanse and polish but its a good back up

    Hope you guys enjoy that
